Why Do Lawyers Advertise?

The answer probably seems self-evidendent: To get clients. Well, that's true. But it isn't the whole story.
There are a lot of great personal injury lawyers out there. Some work at large firms. Some are solo practioners. Some advertise. Some don't. Here is the issue- most people do not know a personal injury lawyer or any lawyer for that matter. And, most people don't know someone, thankfully, who has had to hire a personal injury lawyer.
I have questioned my fair share of potential jurrors in my career. It is extremely rare that a potential jurror has raised his or her hand and indicated they knew a personal injury lawyer. When asked how they would go about finding a lawyer, specifically a personal injujry lawyer, they all eventually said "well, I suppose I would call one who advertises."
It is different in different jurisdictions. But in those jurisdictions with heavy advertising, most people seem to rely on attorney advertising to find help.
We just started our first round of advertising. Did we do it to try and bring in more clients- yes. I am not going to sugar coat that. But we also did it for this: There are a lot of great lawyers out there that people who need help will never find. They will look to the ones who advertise and call them. And they may luck into one of the good ones. Or, they may not. We believe we are one of those great ones. One of those firms that truly cares about our clients. So, that is why we are trying to get our name out there- to give those who need help another option they can choose from when they need help.
So, we hope you enjoy the adds you will seeing. And we hope you never need a personal injury lawyer. But if you do, before you make a decision give us a call. We are happy to talk to you, pressure free, about your case and your options.
